BUNDLED-UP BEAUTIES: ZARA SEPTEMBER 2013 LOOKBOOK
Plaid, gray and blue are the dominant features in Zara’s lookbook for September 2013. Although the weather here in Castelldefels remains summery in general, I think that it’s never too early to explore one’s clothing options for the cold season. (And even though I never wear high heels, I think those gray boots are calling my name.)
WEARING BASIC STRIPED TEES TO WORK
Creating these looks was certainly a journey back to the past for me, to that time when I was just starting a career. My first two jobs were in media: the first was in a lifestyle publication, and the second; in broadcast media. Both jobs didn’t implement a business dress code but they didn’t allow jeans at work either. My closet was bursting with basic striped t-shirts at that time – I was in love with them – and so I would wear these shirts to the office with a pair of slacks, some low heels or strappy sandals, and sometimes a blazer. Here are my ideas on how to wear those stretchy stripes to work. (Of course you can always throw on a blazer or a jacket to look more conservative for work.)
HOLIDAYS IN MONOCHROME
It’s only a month away before summer officially starts. I bet that at this point, many of you are already making vacation plans. I bet, too, that 50 percent of those plans comprises holiday outfits. Summer is obviously the time to wear colors, whether in soft neutral palettes or in crazy, unexpected combinations. Now here’s something fun. How about ditching that color wheel on your desk and going monochromatic? Not in black, white or nude. But in green, purple or yellow. Game?

PASTEL PERFECT BEDROOM
When I saw this inspiration photo, my first thought was: I’m packing my bags now and moving in there. (Then I’ll take that modern art painting down and replace it with something cute.) This room is just gorgeous, and not in the fancy way. It’s gorgeous because it sends good vibes, as if nothing in the world could bother you while in there. Do you like pastel shades in your bedroom, too?

LAID-BACK LOOKS ON A LAID-BACK SUNDAY
COPY THAT: MARIONA PLANAS IN BLUE AND RED
When it comes to styling denim jeans, Mariona Planas is somewhere on top of my list. I especially like it when she wears boyfriend jeans with flat shoes; she looks edgy and sophisticated! She’s big on ballerinas and although I have yet to find a pair that will fit my odd size feet, it doesn’t hurt to turn to her style for inspiration.
